And then there was the incredible party Harper's Bazaar threw for Helena Christensen one year at a grand gothic manse right on Sydney Harbour. That performance by Dita von Teese last year was stellar. Can't wait to see what they do on Monday night with Dannii Minogue in the house! But back to the clothes. I'll never forget Josh Goot's super minimalist first show in a stark white room set to a loop from Snoop Dogg's Drop it Like It's Hot. Talk about hypnotic! Lisa Ho, Camilla Marc and Ginger Smart can always be counted on to make me wish I could buy every piece of their collections. Akira meanwhile is a treat for exquisite, thoughtful clothes and Tina Kalivas is worth a look to see whether she's in commercial or kooky mode. This year I'm thrilled to see a number of RAFW returning heroes on the schedule. The brilliant and eternally cheerful Easton Pearson girls are back, as are those clever clogs at Sass and Bide and the inimitable Michelle Jank. In the event's 12-year-history, these labels are just a handful of the true global successes to emerge and they deserve to bask in the glory. But fashion is always future focussed and the schedule this time has plenty of newies to watch. My picks? Well, I'll definitely be there to cheer on the Antipodium crew at its first runway show and dream about the cossies at HotelBondiSwim.
